Google Account MFA

Tags Google mfa

To enhance security at LBCC, we have enabled 2-step verification for LBCC Google accounts.
Just as with Duo MFA, we recommend using a mobile phone to authenticate your Google
account.

*** IMPORTANT***:
If you do not complete your enrollment within 48 hours you will be locked out. If this
occurs, please contact the Staff Help Desk at staff.helpdesk@linnbenton.edu.
With 2-Step Verification, also known as two-factor authentication, you can add an additional
layer of security to your account in case your password is compromised or stolen. Once you've
set up 2-Step Verification, you can sign in to your account using:
1. Your password
2. Your phone

STEP 2

Verify It’s You with a Second Step:
After you turn on 2-Step Verification, you must complete a second step to verify it’s you when
you sign in. To help protect your account, Google will ask that you complete a specific second
step.

Google prompts are push notifications you’ll receive on:
● Android phones that are signed in to your Google Account.

Based on the device and location info in the notification, you can:
● Allow the sign-in if you requested it by tapping Yes.
● Block the sign-in if you didn’t request it by tapping No.
Use Other Verification Methods:

● You want to increase protection against phishing
